Koronavirus.gov.mk is a central place for all information related to the Coronavirus pandemic in North Macedonia. The website was created for the needs of the Public Relations Sector of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia.

The web solution has powerful tools integrated into it, enabling end-users direct access to a lot of information, presented in a way they will easily understand and visualize.

Unique solutions

Document search

In cooperation with IRI Macedonia, the PR Sector of the Government of RNM and additional legal experts, we created the search engine for Decrees and documents adopted by the Government regarding the Coronavirus.

The tool allows searching documents by category, tags, title, but also searching content inside the PDF documents themselves, enabled via OCR.

The image shows a very ordinary search for the term 'Kumanovo', where the plugin returns all documents containing the term inside.

The document can be downloaded or viewed directly within the plugin.

Detailed statistics

Collecting, displaying and analyzing all data arriving from the Institute of Public Health.

The goal of this overview is to immediately give the user information on what is happening at that moment with the pandemic in North Macedonia, but, on a second more detailed look, to display deeper information as well.

This tool is also useful for researchers, as they can easily add automatic filtering to elements, allowing them to dive into the details of the information and extract exactly the information they need.

Closing words

This project was a real challenge to create because it required compression of all phases of a project's development without any room for errors or delays.

One of the biggest challenges was to create a site that would be accessible to the largest possible number of people. The website is available today in 3 languages, with all content translated.

The website, in the first 3 months of launch, had 2,000,000 views, nearly 350,000 unique visitors, and more than 850,000 sessions. More than 100,000 users found the website through search engines like Google or Bing, with an average Google ranking of 3.2 to 3.6 on SERP. Over 50% of visits were made via mobile phone.
