The challenge of this project was to modernize and migrate the existing SDSM website from one CMS to another and from one server to another in a very short time. Although the design did not undergo major changes, but rather a cosmetic 'facelift', the main work was in the backend.

The goal of the transfer was to allow the PR sector to work quickly, efficiently, and to change and add content from any device at any location.

The key challenge was transferring more than 10,000 unique posts, for which there was no way to export them automatically from the old CMS. For that purpose, we used a script that crawled the old CMS for all content and automatically added it to the new CMS. With this, in one weekend, we automatically transferred almost 10,000 contents, along with their images, texts, categories, unique tags, and videos.

A second goal of the redesign was also adding the capability to add content in multiple languages and translation of the website.

Although the website transfer looks like just a simple design refresh to external users, the biggest benefit is for the PR team, who now knows they have a predictable CMS, protected, secured, advanced, modern, and most importantly – EASY to use.

This also opens the possibility for quick redesigning and completely changing the design of any of the pages, since the theme is handcrafted with a visual designer.
