Makedonski.gov.mk

Makedonski.gov.mk is one of the most challenging, yet inspiring and perhaps most significant projects we’ve ever undertaken. This entire project was completed as a donation from Blink Marketing and Media DOO Skopje to the Government of North Macedonia and all its citizens.

The project involved multiple implementation phases, with our task being to design, develop, code, and launch a complex, multi-layered system within an initial delivery timeline of just 10 days.

The entire extended Blink team worked around the clock during the extended May 1st weekend to successfully launch the platform on May 5th—the Day of the Macedonian Language.

Project Goal

To digitize the entire Macedonian Language Explanatory Dictionary and create a web platform that allows any citizen to search the complete database.

Completed Work

On April 26th, we received all materials from the Institute for Macedonian Language in Word documents, containing over 50,000 definitions of Macedonian words. Over the next 7 days, through a 25-step process, we successfully reconstructed a word card for each entry, containing all relevant information. For this, we utilized our unique NLP model for the Macedonian language, converting 24 distinct properties of each word from plain paragraphs into database fields.

Parallel to this, the design process for the platform was underway in collaboration with the Government’s Public Relations Sector, defining design priorities and the user experience for the system.

Meanwhile, our technical IT team set up the entire server infrastructure. For security reasons, we cannot delve into details, but it consists of a multi-server setup with triple data redundancy and the capacity to serve over half a million users per second.

In the remaining 3.5 days, we developed the web application, converted the proposed design into HTML and CSS, and uploaded all data to the system.
